World War II was a global conflict, which saw 6 years of brutal combat from 1939 to 1945. Towards the end of the war, an American B-29 bomber jet by the name of “Enola Gay” was sent to drop a 10 foot bomb with never-before-seen devastating power on Hiroshima, and another was sent shortly after to Nagasaki. The effects of the bombings were catastrophic, killing a total of close to 200,000+ people. The Japanese surrendered shortly after the bombing of Nagasaki, thus ending the Second World War. Much debate surrounds the actions of the United States to bring World War II to a conclusion. The question itself sparks rage, as many believe the bombings were unethical and not justified. This page is dedicated to show factual evidence which coincides with the statement that Atomic bombs should not have been used to end World War II.
